Like ajvar in Crotia and Serbia, it is a dip made out of red bell pepers and really good to just eat with bread or some homemade cheese from the market, you can buy it in most shops. Also Croatia grows lots of cherries and they like to put them in thier pasteries, my friends all liked the cherry ones, but I must admit the chocolate ones were my favorite. And speaking of chocolate, it might still be a bit cold when you're there, and if so you should definately try the hot chocolat, is is like warm drinkable pudding, but you might have to try a couple different places because everyone makes it a little different. And one more thing, I swear I don't like chocolate this much, but I had a lot of friends who did, look for a type of Milka chocolat bar that has pop rocks in it, its a bit suprising. Make sure you have a Baklava taste testing challenge in Bosnia, and check out the fruit juices and purees in the grocery stores, they have almost every fruit, even blueberry! I know you'll have a great time. Belgrade was my favorite place, sometimes the botanical garden there has festivals on Saturadys, and always check the tires if you're taking a taxi. Enjoy riding the trollies in Zagreb, but always pay your fair, find the music where ever it is, and tell your mom and dad to drink some good turkish coffee for me. Have a wonderful time!Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02757629056438141141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617473442896239321.post-77662465318369606682007-03-28T18:34:00.000+02:002007-03-28T18:34:00.000+02:00Hi Inky! You're spot on there about plane food bein...Hi Inky!

You're spot on there about plane food being "not that appetizing", but if you order a special meal, like sodium-free or vegetarian, your chances of getting something edible improve greatly.

Happy landings!Karlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01026413585956074747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617473442896239321.post-81954564815583837032007-03-28T10:28:00.000+02:002007-03-28T10:28:00.000+02:00Oh, how exciting? Unfortunately, they only smell good for about 90 minutes, so unless you're going on a short hop like Newark to Portland, Maine, say, the not-so-good smell of bodies packed together cheek by jowl begins to slowly take over.
I'm the only person I know who loves airplane food. There's something tea-partyish about it. The little portions are so cute. (I know, I'm crazy.)
I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip. And I hope all your planes retain that good smell.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
